If you’ve done any kind of internet search on the law of attraction, you’ll quickly see that there’s no shortage of information on the topic. You’ll also notice, however, that there are different aspects of the subject that each of these law of attraction articles cover, often leaving you with a mixed bag of information and possibly confused as to exactly how to implement it into your life.

If you read this article from start to finish, and all the external articles I mention in each section, I’m confident that you’ll have a great understanding of exactly what the law of attraction really is.

And to supplement your knowledge and provide you with a more “hands on” experience, I’ll also provide some resources that I personally recommend for taking full advantage of the law of attraction in your life personally.

Intentions

The law of attraction is all about getting the things you want in life. So what is an intention? Simply put, it’s what you want—and the more specific, the better. Don’t be shy here, this is where you honestly recognize exactly what you want in life, leaving out no details.

Sometimes self-limiting beliefs block your positive intentions. For example, one might think it’s absolutely ridiculous to want a five-bedroom home one day because in their mind, there’s no way in a million years they could ever have that. And frankly, with that mindset, they’re most-likely right. Leave your limiting beliefs behind when it comes to ‘intending’ the things you want attracted into your life.

Listed below are a few places that should give you a good understanding of exactly what the law of attraction is, and how your intentions fit into the “big” picture:

Intention Power

Everything in the universe is energy. That includes you, and even your thoughts. The more emotion behind your thoughts (good or bad), the more powerful they become. Remember how I said if you have self-limiting beliefs about your intentions, you most likely won’t attract it into your life? Because beliefs are (very powerful) intentions, and most-likely your self-limiting belief is going to send a stronger “signal” than simply wanting something.

If you want to successfully attract something in your life using the law of attraction, you’ll need to learn to block out conflicting intentions (such as limiting beliefs), and learn to capitalize on the “power” of your positive emotions that directly correspond with the things you DO want in your life.

Some people use meditation, I use meditation combined with brainwave entrainment to help me in this area.

Taking Action

Many people make fun of the law of attraction, and those who believe in it because so many products and films make it out to be this mystical, magical “thing” that’s supposed to give you what you want… like some kind of genie in a bottle type of thing. And honestly, if done correctly, that’s almost what it seems like… but it’s far from magic.

I’ve already covered the importance of defining your intentions and the power behind them, but those two “important” elements are actually quite useless if you just intend away while sitting on your sofa all day long.

You need to take action regularly if you want to actually get what you want. Just as with cooking, you can have all the best ingredients that come from all the right places, but they’re all useless if you don’t take action and get to cooking!

“So why not just take action and forget
all the ‘intention’ mumbo-jumbo?”

Well there’s no law that says you can’t do that, but it would be comparable to a construction worker nailing pieces of wood together not knowing if they are building a house or a shopping mall, or a game programmer writing code unsure of exactly what kind of game they are going to make.

How far do you think they’d get before calling it “quits”? Not very far I’m guessing, but if they did happen to see their efforts to completion, what’s the chances of it turning out to be exactly what they could have ever wanted? They would most likely be unhappy with it, or at the very most, just plain satisfied, but not truly happy with what they’ve created… and unfortunately, that’s where most people stand.

Your intentions are the floor plans of what you want attracted in your life, and the power behind those intentions serve as the fuel that drives you to take the right actions. That’s why it’s extremely important to put positive power (faith, happiness, hope, motivation) behind your intentions, and not negative power (discouragement, faithlessness, fear, apathy, resentment, etc).

Now that you know exactly what the law of attraction is, and what you generally “should” do to attract what you want into your life, you may still be a little unsure of exactly how all the information and advice you were just given can fit into your life specifically. After all, no piece of general advice can be applied to everyone.
