Self-Limiting Beliefs

Since the sub-title for Develop Minds recently changed, I thought I’d make a new post in light of that, and write directly about the Law of Attraction. Not only that, this post will cover what I believe to be one of the most important aspects of it, because so many fail to manifest what they want into their lives due to self-limiting beliefs.

The Proper “MIND”-Set

From the very beginning, we are socially conditioned to have a scarcity mindset, which causes most us to believe that there just isn’t enough “stuff” for everybody, whatever that may be for you.

So the first self-limiting belief you need to rid yourself of, is the scarcity mindset. You need to have an abundance mindset—believe that there is plenty to go around, and then some. Know that no matter the competition, there is plenty of what you want to go around for you, and everyone else who also wants the same thing.

Self-Created Limiting Beliefs

The next area you should focus on, is to destroy all of your negative thought patterns. Thinking negatively is a bad habit, which means it can not only be broken, but replaced with GOOD habits.

For example, if what you are trying to attract into your life is to be able to afford a bigger house, don’t think (or say) to yourself, “I’ll never be able to afford a better house, I have way too many bills!

Instead, tell yourself (no matter how untrue it is at the time), “My financial situation can fully support buying a new house” or something to that effect—make sure it is fully positive.

While you may believe that to be true, you need to tell yourself the opposite, because telling yourself (or even thinking to yourself) the negative thought will place a LIMIT on what you’re trying to achieve.

If you believe your financial situation is not, and will not be good enough to overcome your debts and get the house you REALLY want—then you’re absolutely right, and you won’t attract that into your life.

However, on the other hand, if you destroy your negative thought patterns, and replace your self-limiting beliefs with self-empowering beliefs, then you can achieve anything you want.

Beliefs vs. Affirmations

So you learned that instead of telling yourself that you’ll never be able to afford that house you’ve always wanted, you need to tell yourself the opposite—which is, that you WILL afford the house you want, and you WILL own and move into it.

However, telling yourself is not enough. While it’s always good to be feeding yourself positive statements, it’s important that you consume it. The taste of something is far stronger than the smell of it—meaning, you need to try your hardest to believe what you are telling yourself because positive affirmations are not nearly as strong when your subconscious, and especially your conscious mind, is fighting your positive statements with negative beliefs.

The bottom line is, positive affirmations are good because they get the ball rolling when it comes to destroying your negative thought patterns, but positive belief is absolutely necessary to fully rid yourself from all self-limiting habits.

A Little More On Belief…

So instill a sense of positive belief into your affirmations and thought patterns, and you’ll be amazed at how fast you see results in manifesting what you want in your life.

And before you can effectively manifest anything you want into your life, you have to believe that this process (aka. the “Law of Attraction”) actually works. If you have any doubt, or are unsure of how and why it DOES work, I recommend reading “The Secret Behind The Secret” by Dr. Eric Amidi, a quantum physicist who was part of the group who discovered the last sub-atomic particle (Top Quark).

Dr. Amidi has done extensive research on the science behind the Law of Attraction, and has written a book on exactly how it works, why it works, and how to implement it into your life.

Excellent post. Believe that you have something now in order to experience the full power of an affirmation. The law of attraction responds to your present level of vibration. I am statements carry true power.
